If you think that you or someone you know may be having problems with their mental health, there are lots of places that offer helpful advice and support, some of which are listed in this A-Z of useful organisations for a variety of issues that can affect mental health (listed on the left).

If you're in crisis then call 999 or go to A&E where you will be able to get emergency help and support. Another place to get support is by seeing your GP, they will be able to offer you treatment, or refer you to an appropriate service who would be best suited to helping you such as Improved Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT).

University Students’ Union Advice Service – The Students’ Union have advisers who can help if students are struggling with getting their work done due to mental health problems – they can help students submit Mitigating Circumstances forms and help you access support from the university.

No Panic – No Panic are a voluntary charity which helps people who suffer from Panic Attacks, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and other related anxiety disorders including those people who are trying to give up tranquillisers.

Triumph Over Phobia – Triumph Over Phobia is a charity which aims to help sufferers of phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder and other related anxiety to overcome their fears. We do this by running a network of self-help therapy groups. They run a group at the University of Westminster on Thursday evenings from 6.15pm to 7.30pm, in the Luxborough Suite at the Marylebone Campus, starting Thursday 24 January 2013.
