Get Involved!

As a student society, we're always looking for people to get involved. To be part of the society you don't need to have a good knowledge or experience of mental health issues, all we ask is that you are open minded, non-judgemental, and that you are enthusiastic to help our cause!

Examples of how you can help are listed below, and if you want to be a part of what we do, then drop us an email!

  • Volunteer to help us at events. - We often have a stand at University events and regularly rely on our members to help our society have a strong presence.

  • Help us design posters and other promotional materials. - We often need posters to be designed in order to publicise our society and the events we hold, but we also create posters that promote general mental health awareness.

  • Help us come up with ideas as to how to promote mental health at the university. - We are always trying to think of interesting and innovative ideas as to how we can promote mental health awareness to students, if you like to think outside the box then get in touch!

  • Help us to organise events and activities. - Running a full programme of events requires a lot of effort, having people help with this means we can provide a lot more.

  • Write a poem/story/article/essay on a topic related to mental health and wellbeing. - We have a column in The QH as well as a blog. We try to encourage students to discuss and explore mental health through a variety of means, and writing is often a good way of doing this.

  • Help us with our short films project. - This project is still in the very early stages, but we hope to produce a series of short films about different mental health problems that can affect students. If you're interested in being a part of the project, please do email us.

If you don't feel you can commit too much, then even something as simple as attending our events, or retweeting us on twitter can make a big difference!
